Within a short span of time, Ranveer Singh has established an independent foothold for himself in the vast film industry. With an interesting lineup of films in his kitty, Ranveer is all set to get the box-office ringing with an array of characters and narratives ranging from different genres. And now, it seems, the Dil Dhadakne Do star is about to enter into the historic terrain yet again with his mentor Sanjay Leela Bhansali. As per reports, Ranveer is in talks with Sanjay for his upcoming Diwali 2021 release titled Baiju Bawra. The film, which will be a musical drama based on the maestro who sought revenge for his father's death in the court of Akbar. According to sources close to the film, Ranveer has been roped in to play the character in his youth.
"The filmmaker has offered the lead and title role of the young Baiju Bawra to Ranveer Singh. Who else can play the passionate, emotional, deeply vengeful and yet intensely romantic Baiju, than Ranveer? SLB and Ranveer have met and the filmmaker has offered the young actor the role of Baiju Bawra. The movie won’t start before next year and by then Ranveer would have completed his other films," the source told.

As soon as the film was announced on October 27, 2019, speculations that Ajay Devgn will be roped in for the titular role did the rounds. However, with the buzz suggesting Ranveer's name, it remains interesting to see who bags the role in Sanjay's ambitious project after the completion of Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt.
Speaking of Ranveer and Sanjay, the filmmaker is credited with a major transformation of the actor's career. Ranveer, with Sanjay, delivered blockbusters titled Goliyon Ki Raas Leela-Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat, which were appreciated by the audience and critics alike.
