Recreations and remix of cult classic songs have gripped Bollywood over the past few years. Be it the age-old evergreen songs or early 90-2000s songs, the trend has included them all. While remixes have appealed to a few, some are in disagreement, including Vishal Dadlani. The ace composer-singer, who is a part of the popular singer duo Vishal-Shekhar, has found this trend to be troublesome and his Twitter warning is proof. Vishal, who is currently seen as one of the three judges on Sony TV's singing reality show Indian Idol 11, on Wednesday, on his Twitter account, put forth a point in strong words that remixing any of Vishal-Shekhar song will lead the composer of the recreated one into a legal battle.
"Warning: I WILL sue anyone making remixes of Vishal & Shekhar songs. I'll even move court against the films & musicians. After Saaki Saaki, I hear upcoming bastardisations include Dus Bahaane, Deedaar De, Sajnaji Vaari Vaari, Desi Girl & more. Make your own songs, vultures!" Vishal wrote.

Soon after the composer issued the warning, Twitter left no stone unturned to scrutinise Vishal-Shekhar's past work and went on to slam him for touching a classic song like Bachna Ae Haseeno for Ranbir Kapoor's film by the same name. Some even pointed out at him asking whether permission from Asha Bhosle was taken before reusing the song for the film's title track.
Being a huge fan of Vishal-Shekhar's music, I personally will not tolerate if someone tries to ruin these 3 "original" gems of theirs:
1. Bachna Ae Haseeno: https://t.co/rylPUVHPxG
2. Disco Deewane: https://t.co/1T812kvHjV
3. Humein Tumse Pyaar Kitna: https://t.co/rt8TCm3Edr— Rohan Dasgupta (@RohanDasgupta) October 30, 2019

Dear Vishal, while I admire your work and outspoken-ness, are we talking about songs where rights are legally transferred or otherwise ? And also, when you were remaking Bachna Ae Haseeno, did you seek the consent of the original composer / his heirs @ashabhosle? @ShekharRavjiani

Not just Bachna Ae Haseeno, but Vishal faced the wrath of social media users for recreating Disco Deewane in Student Of The Year and the very recent song Shaitan Ka Saala, which derives a part of its lyrics from Tony Montana's Bala Bala.
Loooool says someone who copied an entire song. I hope Tony Montana sues your ass for copying Bala Bala https://t.co/GyrMYYmOc3
