Making woman the butt of all jokes is not entertaining: Taapsee Pannu on refraining from doing sex-comedies

Taapsee Pannu, with her choice of films, has proven to be a versatile actress to look out for. The actress, who is currently riding high on the success of her recently released film Saand Ki Aankh, has not just managed to win the hearts of the audience, but made a place for herself in the list of artists who do meaningful cinema filled with loads of entertainment. Taapsee, after beginning her Bollywood career with Chashme Baddoor in 2012, has shown to be a power-packed performer with a range of films belonging to different genres and styles. Be it crime thriller or a space-based film, she has done it all. However, Taapsee seems to be open to experimenting with different genres, the only one that she wants to keep at bay is sex-comedy. The actress, during an interview with a leading daily, told she will never touch such films as it portrays women in a bad light and makes them a butt of jokes.

“Whatever sex comedies I’ve seen so far, I didn’t find them funny. I’ll never do one because it shows women in a particular light. Making woman the butt of all jokes, having sexual innuendos, double meanings just to titillate the audience is not entertaining,” Taapsee told.
