Actors Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday will come together for the first time for director Maqbool Khan's young and edgy film Khaali Peeli. Set in Mumbai, the film is a young, edgy roller-coaster ride that kick-starts one night, when boy meets girl. Ali Abbas Zafar, who directed multiple blockbusters like "Sultan" and "Tiger Zinda Hai", has joined hands with Zee Studios to co-produce the much-awaited project.
Now according to a report in a leading daily, the makers of the film, which went on floors in September, recently shot for a high-octane action sequence with Ishaan and Ananya apart from Jaideep Ahlawat, who will be seen as the villain. “It was a night shoot spread across four days in Mumbai. In the sequence, the leads are in a cab and being chased by the baddies down the bylanes of Bhendi Bazaar. It comes at an important juncture of the story,” the daily quoted a source as saying.
Reportedly, the production team conducted a recce of the locations in order to ensure safety of the actors. “The unit had also sought permissions from the authorities to shoot in the lanes.” Talking about the sequence, director Maqbool added, “This is the first time ever in Bollywood that someone has shot an action sequence amid the chaos of Bhendi Bazaar. It was quite an experience.”
The makers have roped in Vishal-Shekhar to compose the music of the film, which will release on June 12, 2020.
