Nushrat Bharucha’s special number in the upcoming Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria starrer Marjaavaan has been edited out. According to a report published in a leading daily, the film’s director Milap Zaveri took this decision along with his creative team. Apparently, the makers felt that the song hampered the pace of the film.
As reported by the daily, the decision was taken after several meetings with the producers Bhushan Kumar and Nikhhil Advani, along with both Sidharth and Nushrat. The report further stated that Nushrat had no issues with it as she understood the intent. However, taking into account the capital and effort that went in creating the song it will be released as an independent track in the next few months.
The track titled Peeyu Datke was shot at Vasai Fort and in a Mumbai studio. It is sung and composed by Honey Singh and is inspired a Rajasthani folk song. Talking about the song, Nushrat had earlier told the daily, “It’s a party track with a desi vibe but also an underground feel which makes for an interesting contrast.”
On the other hand, the makers have retained another dance number featuring Nora Fatehi which is a recreation of Jaanbaaz hit Pyaar Do Pyaar Lo. Marjaavaan is slated to release on November 15 and also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Rakul Preet Singh.
