Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday starrer Pati Patni Aur Woh’s trailer was released recently. It is the remake of the 1978 film starring Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta Kaur in the lead roles and is one of the most anticipated films. However, a dialogue in its trailer has rubbed people the wrong way and has offended many as it cracks a joke on marital rape. The makers of the film faced flak after they used a marital rape dialogue in the film. It says, "Biwi se sex maang lein toh hum bikhaari, Biwi ko sex na de toh hum atyachaari, Aur kisi tarah jugaad laga ke usse sex haasil kar lena toh balaatkari bhi hum hai." An entertainment portal earlier reported that the makers ‘got carried away’ when they decided to include a joke in the film on this controversial issue. Apparently, the said scene will be edited out of the film.
Now, opening about the same to a leading news publication, the producer of the film, Juno Chopra said that both his grandfather and father have made socially relevant films and while has not made one yet, he believes he is doing the right thing by respecting people's sentiments and has thus edited out the lines.
Pati, Patni Aur Woh is directed by Mudassar Aziz and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Renu Ravi Chopra, and Krishan Kumar. It is slated to release on December 6.
