Kriti Sanon, with pure talent and hard work, has managed to make her mark in the vast film industry. The actress who has been giving back to back superhits, has become every filmmakers' favourite and has been bagging some interesting projects for her kitty. After the success of Housefull 4, Kriti is now gearing up for the release of her first-period war drama titled Panipat. While the trailer of the Ashutosh Gowariker directorial left some delighted and excited, some of them raised objections and criticised it for bearing resemblance to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani in terms of grandeur and looks. Post this, the makers spoke on the issue to dismiss any similarity between Bajirao Mastani and Panipat, haters and trollers failed to pay heed.
Talking on this, Kriti, during an interview with a leading daily, told, when Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who played the role of Kashibai in Bajirao Mastani, met her at a party, the pretty actresses sarcastically figured out the similarity between both the characters and proved that comparisons and criticisms don't bother them. "We were trying to figure the exact relation between Kashibai and Parvatibai," Kriti said.
Adding about her interaction with Priyanka, Kriti gushed about the latter and said she resonated with a video posted by the former where she is seen dancing to Coca Cola from Luka Chuppi while being dressed as Parvatibai. "Priyanka had seen my video where I was dancing on Coca Cola in my vanity van, dressed as Parvatibai. It resonated with her. She said, 'It reminded me of myself because whenever I would be off the set, I was no longer Kashibai. I would slip into my character again when I was on the set.' We had a fun, informal conversation," Kriti gushed.
Speaking about the comparisons of Panipat with other historical films, the Housefull 4 actress said she was expecting it. Continuing further, she stated that the setting is similar as Bajirao Mastani and Panipat, both revolve around Peshwas. Concluding her interview, Kriti said characters in Panipat are different and requested the audience to not jump to any conclusion before watching the film.
"I was expecting comparisons when I signed the film. Padmaavat too was compared to Baahubali. The period of Panipat and Bajirao is similar. The setting is similar because the Peshwas lived in Shaniwar Wada, and they dressed in a certain way. But the characters are different. I hope the audience doesn't jump to conclusions by watching only the trailer," Kriti added.
