Terming him terrific 'on-screen' Priyadarshan confirms Meezaan as the lead in 'Hungama 2'

Jaaved Jaaferi's handsome son Meezaan made his much-awaited Bollywood debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali produced Malaal, co-starring the latter's niece Sharmin Segal. Although the film failed to work its magic on the box-office, Meezaan's acting skills and screen presence with his leading lady was much appreciated. Be it his fabulous dancing skills or emotions scenes, the star made an impact for sure. Now, after four months since its release, Meezaan has been roped in for this second film, which is none other than Priyadarshan's Hungama 2. The filmmaker, who is returning to films after a long hiatus, confirmed Meezaan's participation in the out-and-out comedy film. Talking about the Malaal star, Priyadarshan, during an interview, heaped praises and said there is nothing he can't do.

"Yes, we’ve found our male lead in Hungama 2 and it’s Meezaan. The boy is terrific on-screen. He is a fabulous dancer like his father, emotes and fights well too. There is nothing he can’t do," Priyadarshan told.

Speaking about the rest of the cast, Priyadarshan added that apart from Akshaye Khanna and Rimi Sen, the cast will remain the same as the previous installment. "Paresh Rawal will be back in the film, so will Shakti Kapoor and Rajpal Yadav. Only the lead pair Akshaye Khanna and Rimi Sen will change," Priyadarshan added.

Calling Hungama 2 to be a fresh story, the filmmaker cited the reason to retain the title. He said considering the inclusion of loads of masti and hungama, the makers retained the title of the first film. "It will be a fresh story. We decided to title the new comedy Hungama 2 because the mood of Masti, mischief and Hungama remain unchanged. It will be young, vibrant, warm, funny and family-oriented. In brief, a typical Priyadarshan comedy," he concluded.
