Katrina Kaif is a bona fide star. Be it acing difficult dance moves to wowing us with intense character portrayal, the actress has done it all. While Katrina left us stunned with her nuanced performance in her Eid 2019 release Bharat, co-starring Salman Khan, she is all set to show her comic side in Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi, along with Akshay Kumar. The 36-year-old actress, who is time and again been associated with some strong roles in recent times, at We The Women event hosted by Barkha Dutt, spoke about female-centric films and the budget issues that follow with it. Katrina told that if producers mount female-dominated films on the same scale as male-centric ones, they too will create havoc at the box-office and break records.
"My argument to that is, which I discuss with a lot of producers I'm close to and have worked with, give the female-dominated films, with maybe one or two female leads, the same budget and mounting that you are giving to the male stars or the combination of a male and a female star. Give that to a female film and see what happens then," Katrina told.
Katrina, who was last seen in Bharat, adding further stated that producers should have the confidence to take risks and invest in films that showcase women as the hero. "We just need to see that confidence come from the producers to take that risk and put that investment into the film. Films like War are big action films with huge budgets. If we mount a film, it could be a different film, be it a comedy, a fun summer blockbuster, if we give that film the same mounting, the audience will feel that this is an event film," Katrina added.
