Reacting to Rishi Kapoor's tweet, actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar tweeted, "The 4 convicted rapists/killers of Jyoti Singh were given capital punishment. It has now been 7 years. They are still alive. That's how grindingly slow the wheels of justice on a (fast-tracked!!) case that shook this country to its core have turned. It's pathetic. @chintskap".

Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu too has reacted to the heinous gang-rape and murder of a 27-year-old veterinarian on the outskirts of Hyderabad on November 27. The actor took to Twitter to appeal to the government demanding capital punishment for the accused in such brutal crimes.
My heartfelt condolences to the families of the girls. Your pain is irreversible! Let's come together to give justice to all the women and young girls of our country... Let's make India safe!!#JusticeforPriyankaReddy #StopRapes #SaveHer

Meanwhile, singer Sona Mohapatra and filmmaker Alankrita Shrivastava have focussed the root cause of the problem, the patriarchal mindset which has been dominating the Indian society since ages. Alankrita is of the opinion that "in our country misogyny is accepted, violence against women is normalised and patriarchy encourages crimes against women". Sona feels that the society is unnecessarily preachy towards women and most of the times a girl is held responsible for a crime committed against her.
We are a country where misogyny is accepted and in fact nurtured. And violence against women is normalized. Be it inside the home or outside. We are all responsibe, our silence and complacency makes us complicit. #NoCountryForWomen

& now #PriyankaReddy .In all this, we have an idiot, Dick-pic sharing Utsav types gathering compassion from all. The women are esp quick to ‘self-reflect’ & write empath editorials. Like seriously? So quick to keep aside millions of lives holding the shorter end of the stick?
