Deepika Padukone and Boney Kapoor unveiled a book on the late legendary actor Sridevi on Sunday night. The book was unveiled at the literature festival held in Delhi. While everyone spoke about the veteran actress’ aura, charm and acting prowess, Deepika shared some personal anecdotes of what she discussed with the eternal diva. She spilled the beans on the personal equation that she shared with Sridevi and also revealed the last conversation she had with her.
Deepika revealed how she and Sridevi both being from South India bonded over the culture and also went on to discuss things like domestic help. She said, “Maybe somewhere the South Indian connect. So much so that my last conversation with her was about staff issues at home. That’s the relationship we shared.” Deepika also revealed that Sridevi had praised her on personal messages after watching her film.
Deepika unveiled the book titled Sridevi: The Eternal Screen Goddess written by Satyarth Nayak along with Boney. Kajol wrote the forward of the book and said, “I have grown up watching Sridevi’s superstardom on film-sets and her magic on the big screen. She is an institution of acting and will forever remain my most favourite icon. So happy Penguin gave me this opportunity to write this foreword.” Sridevi passed away last year on February 24, 2018.
