Akshay Kumar is sharing screen space for the first time with Diljit Dosanjh in the upcoming film, Good Newwz. While Akshay is paired opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit will be seen alongside Kiara Advani. Directed by Raj Mehta and backed by Karan Johar, the film promises the biggest goof-up after sperms get exchanged during the IVF process of the two couples at the hospital.
Now during an interaction with a leading daily, Diljit opened up on working with Akshay and revealed how he broke the ice with him. "I remember that I gave my shot and sat in my place. Main darta nahi kisise lekin Akshay paaji ka fan bhi hoon aur unki badi respect bhi hai. Senior hain, experience wale hain. Toh main apni jagah jaake baith gaya. He came to me and said, ‘Tu last time kab bola tha?’ I responded, ‘Paaji, abhi scene mein bola na.’ We laughed and broke the ice in a fun manner, and that’s thanks to him," the Punjabi superstar said.
Stating how both of them could not control their laughter off screen, Diljit added, "Cricket, jokes and funny incidents happened a lot after that. Somehow, while doing some of the funniest acts on-screen, we could control our laughter, but we couldn’t do that off-camera. I also had a great laugh when I was dubbing my parts. In fact, I laughed at a lot while dubbing for many of my scenes. I saw myself and said, ‘Yeh kya kar raha hai, yaar’."
Well, we cannot wait to see their camaraderie on the silver screen.
Good Newws is slated to release on December 27.
