Ayushmann Khurrana is one of the most talented gems in Bollywood currently. Also, it won't be wrong to call him a genre in himself given his unique and never-touched-before choice of films. Be it discussing the topic of erectile dysfunction in Shubh Mangal Saavdhan or touching upon the aspect of premature balding in Bala, Ayushmann has done it all with conviction. While the journey to success for him wasn't a cakewalk, but now, he has finally found a strong foothold for himself in the world of cinema. The 35-year-old actor, who has faced the ups and downs of showbiz, during a roundtable interview, revealed that he was replaced in a film. The film is none other than Udta Punjab and Ayushmann was to play the role of Diljit Dosanjh's character Sartaj Singh. The Dream Girl actor, in front of Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Varma and Akshaye Khanna confessed that he was heartbroken after being thrown out.
"I was supposed to do that film... Udta Punjab... Diljit's character. Suddenly mujhe call aaya ki tum nahi kar rahe, so I was heartbroken," Ayushmann told, leaving everyone surprised.

Udta Punjab was directed by Abhishek Chaubey and released in 2016. The film was a black comedy revolving around the drug menace in Punjab and featured Shahid, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit and Alia Bhatt in the central roles. The film not just performed well at the box-office but won many accolades at award functions.
Workwise, Ayushmann will be seen in Shoojit Sircar's Gulabo Sitabo with Amitabh Bachchan and in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. Both films will release in 2020.
