Watch: Ayushmann Khurrana asks Shahid Kapoor whether he would like to do a film on erectile dysfunction; the actor says, 'I would be happy'

Ayushmann Khurrana, with his unique and out-of-the-box film choices, has become one of Bollywood's most trusted and bankable stars in the last few years. Be it playing the role of Bala, who suffers from premature balding or stepping into the character of Dream Girl, he has done it all with pure brilliance. While most of the 35-year-old actor's film has itched a permanent place in the minds of the audience, his Shubh Mangal Saavdhan holds special importance in the history of Bollywood. Touching upon the topic of erectile dysfunction, the R.S. Prasanna directorial was a breath of fresh air and a much-needed change from the regular genres of film. Talking about the venture that had an unconventional storyline, Shahid Kapoor, during a roundtable interview, with Ayushmann, Ranveer Singh, Vijay Varma and Akshaye Khanna in attendance, told that he would like to do a similar film. When asked about the kind of film they wished they would be offered more, Shahid promptly replied saying that he would love to do projects that Ayushmann has been doing. In response to this, the latter, in a funny manner, quizzed that would he like to sign a film on erectile dysfunction. Shahid then added that Ayushmann was the first person to sign such films and now that the genre is making its way into Bollywood, it would be great to be a part of them.

“I would be happy. I know, I called you and I said something to you and you said, you wouldn’t do a film like that. Maybe he’s the one who had the guts to be the first one. But now that he has done it; it makes me feel like why didn’t I do it. So great, I mean we have to learn from each other,” Shahid told.

Shubh Mangal Saavdhan also starred Bhumi Pednekar in the lead role. It was directed by R.S. Prasanna and produced by Aanand L. Rai. The film released in 2017 and went on to achieve critical and well as commercial success.

Workwise, Ayushmann will be seen in Shoojit Sircar's Gulabo Sitabo with Amitabh Bachchan and in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. Both films will release in 2020. On the other hand, Shahid is shooting for the Hindi remake of Jersey.
