Rani Mukerji is getting rave reviews for her hard-hitting, no-nonsense role of cop Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 2. However, two other people who have also received a lot of appreciations are debutant director Gopi Puthran and debutant actor Vishal Jethwa who plays the antagonist in the film.

Today, Rani introduced the two at a press conference that was organized to mark the success of the film. Vishal spoke about his experience of working with a seasoned actor like Rani and also lauded Puthran for believing in him and credited him in making his character so believably evil.

Talking about Puthran and why he chose to do Mardaani 2 Vishal said, “All credit goes to the director Gopi Puthran otherwise who will get scared of a guy like me.”

Puthran credited casting director Shanoo Sharma for picking Vishal for the role and also spoke about why he chose such a sensitive subject for his debut film.

Mardaani 2 is going great guns at the box office and has already collected Rs 18.15 crore at the box office on its third day of release.
