The sequel of 2005's Bunty Aur Babli starring Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji in the titular roles, was the talk of the town. With several speculations doing the rounds of media, fans of the prequel were excited to delve deeper into details of the second installment of the rom-com produced by Yash Raj Films. Amidst all rumours, PeepingMoon.com was the first to inform its reader that Gully Boy fame Siddhant Chaturvedi will star opposite a newcomer Sharvari Wagh. Now, on Tuesday, proving us right, the director of Bunty Aur Babli 2, Varun Sharma, in an interview with a leading daily, confirmed our exclusive. Talking to the daily about Siddhant, who has signed his second film in the form of Bunty Aur Babli sequel, Varun told the former is extremely charming and fits into the role well. Adding, the director said the team is excited to work with the 26-year-old actor.
“Bunty Aur Babli 2 is completely set in today’s time. Siddhant caught everyone’s eye with his brilliant acting debut in Gully Boy and became the heartthrob of the nation. We are very excited to have him play the role of Bunty. He is a superb actor, is extremely charming and he fits the role perfectly," Varun told.
Calling Sharvari and 'extremely special actress', Varun said her chemistry with Siddhant isn't just fresh but infectious too. For the unversed, Sharvari is said to be actor Sunny Kaushal's girlfriend and has been preparing for her acting debut for a year.
“Sharvari is an extremely special actress to watch out for. She is a powerful performer and you have to watch her on-screen to understand what we mean. Given the film and the roles, they are definitely the perfect casting. They are a fresh, hot pair and their chemistry and energy is infectious,” Varun added.
Produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner Yash Raj Films, Bunty Aur Babli sequel has already gone on floors. It is directed by Varun, who was an assistant director on films like Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. The release date is yet to be announced.
