Twitterati troll Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan for their stoic silence over CAA and Jamia Protest, ‘Bollywood Ke Buddhe’ and ‘Shame on Bollywood’ trend

Many celebrities and netizens have spoken and given their views on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The social media is clearly divided in two factions one which supports the bill while the other who are skeptical about it. The Police action on Jamia Milia Islamia students have also come under scrutiny where many sided with the students while others raised questions on how come the students resorted to destroying public property, pelting stones and torching buses. While stars like Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey, Rajkummar Rao, Anurag Kashyap, Richa Chadha, Swara Bhasker, Vishal Dadlani, Soni Razdan, Mahesh Bhatt, Parineeti Chopra and others slammed Delhi Police for barging into the university campus at Jamia Milia Islamia, there have been others like Vivek Agnihotri, Koena Mitra, Yogeshwar Dutt that have come out in support of the Act.

However, the biggies of Bollywood have maintained a stoic silence over the issue. Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan have all refrained from voicing their opinion. Rajinikanth even dodged the question yesterday during the trailer launch of his film Darbar. Their deafening silence has not escaped the notice of the Twitterati who have made #ShameOnBollywood and #BollywoodKeBekaarBuddhe trend on Twitter. Netizens expressed their anger at their silence and were upset with celebs that showed solidarity with the protesters without knowing the entire matter. Amitabh was trolled heavily for calling student protests in Delhi ‘peaceful’. many tried to school the celebrities that tweeted their support to the Jamia protests. Check out the tweets below.

Sonakshi Sinha was also trolled for her tweet.

Alia Bhatt was trolled for being a British subject as she shared the preamble of the Constitution on her Instagram story.  

The celebrities have been trolled left, right and centre for either showing their solidarity towards the protesters or keeping silence over the entire CAA issue. Watch this space for more updates.
