A sequel to Ajay Devgn's ‘Raid’ in the works, to go on floors by the end of December?

Ajay Devgn’s film Raid that released last year was not only successful at the box office but was critically acclaimed as well, making it a rarity in Bollywood. So, it is hardly surprising that Ajay has finally accepted to star in a sequel of Raid. The film has been tentatively titled Raid 2 it will see Ajay back as an honest IRS officer.

According to a trade website, Ajay was given a brief story flow for the sequel which he has liked and given his verbal assent to the project. The film’s full-length script is in the works and it will once again be produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak. A crisp and breezy thriller is expected this time around too.

It is unclear when the film will mount the sets but several reports suggest that the film will go on the floors by the end of this year and an official announcement will soon be forthcoming. Rajkumar Gupta is reported to helm Raid 2 as well.

The first part saw Ajay play IT officer who raids an influential man in Lucknow and was inspired by a real-life income-tax raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax Department under the Indian Revenue Service office in the 1980s. Watch this space for more updates on the film.
