After taking a sabbatical from films thirteen years ago, Shilpa Shetty Kundra is all set to make a comeback with not one but two interesting projects. While she had been shooting for Sabbir Khan's Nikamma in Lucknow, the actress has been roped in to star in Priyadarshan's Hungama 2. And now we hear, that Priyadarshan's film will feature the reprised version of Chura Ke Dil Mera, from Shilpa's 1994 film, Main Khiladi Tu Anadi.
The original song, which also starred Akshay Kumar, is being worked upon for a reboot by none other than Anu Malik, who composed the 1994 chartbuster, as reported by a leading daily. Well, if the report is indeed true, it would be a delight to watch Shilpa groove on the song yet again!
Meanwhile, Hungama 2 will mark Shilpa's first collaboration with Priyadarshan. It also stars Meezaan Jaaferi and South actor Pranitha Subhash while Paresh Rawal, Shakti Kapoor and Rajpal Yadav have been retained from the original cast. As confirmed by the filmmaker, Shilpa will play a glamourous character in the film. "For this role, I wanted an actor who has ruled the film industry as the character is integral to the narrative. Shilpa plays a glamorous and the most hilarious character in the movie. She is paired opposite Paresh Rawal. We have titled the film Hungama 2 because it has funny situations arising from confusion and misunderstandings, and thus, has the spirit of Hungama," Priyadarshan had earlier said.
Hungama 2 is expected to go on floors in January.
