Prabhudheva's iconic dance anthem Muqabla has been recreated for his upcoming film Street Dancer 3D, which also stars Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor. The original song was composed by AR Rahman for the 1994 film Humse Hai Muqabala. The song has been recreated by Tanishk Bagchi and has been sung by Yash Narvekar and Parampara Thakur.
But did you know the revisited version was to feature only the ace choreographer and Shraddha. Revealing that Varun requested to be included in the recreated version, director Remo D'souza informed a leading daily, "Shraddha was [meant to be] part of the song, but Varun was keen to feature in it too. He didn't want to miss the opportunity to dance with Prabhudeva on the iconic number. So, for the promotional [edit], we added one sequence that has him dance with Prabhudeva."
Well, that's interesting!
Meanwhile, Remo further added that being aware that the track associated with two artistes, AR Rahman and Prabhudeva, he did not take the reboot version lightly. "We were to shoot the song in Dubai. As soon as we took the first shot, I did not feel good about it. I knew we had to make it bigger than we were being able to, at that point. So, I cancelled the shoot, returned to Mumbai to plan it better, and then shot it. Now, it looks grand," he signed off by saying.
Street Dancer 3D highlights India-Pakistan issues through the scope of dance and music. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Lizelle D'Souza. It is slated to release on January 24, 2020.
