Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor are teaming up for a Luv Ranjan film is fairly well-known. The two actors announced the film but not much progress has been made on it as both have been busy with their pet projects, Ranbir with Brahmastra and Ajay with Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Maidaan after which no dates were left for the untitled film. Many reports came flooding in that the film has been shelved or put o the backburner.

However, in an interview with an entertainment portal, Ajay confirmed that the film is very much on the cards and he and Ranbir are definitely a part of it. He said, “It is happening but, because I am so stuck up, and pushing dates. It will happen by the end of 2020 hopefully.”

The portal quoted a source that said, “Luv has really liked the script and wants to make his most ambitious project which is a magnum opus. But with Ranbir Kapoor busy with Brahmastra and Ajay with his other lineups, it has become very difficult to manage dates of both the actors. But, hopefully, they are looking to roll next year-end."

It is speculated that Ranjan is planning to rope in Deepika Padukone as the female lead for the film. However, no official confirmation has come out on the same. On the other hand, Ranjan has confirmed another project with Ranbir and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead recently.
