Ananya Panday, who has managed to wow the audience with her films, became the subject of trolls after she made a comment on nepotism. The two-film-old actress, during a roundtable interview with fresh talents including Siddhant Chaturvedi, Tara Sutaria, Abhimanyu Dassani, Vishal Jethwa, Saloni Batra and Geetika Vidya Ohlyan, said she is proud of her father, actor Chunky Panday for the efforts he has been putting in over the years. The Pati, Patni Aur Woh star then went on to say that Chunky hasn't been to Dharma Productions' office nor participated in Koffee With Karan. Moments later, Siddhant, who was seated beside Ananya gave a fitting reply to her and put an end to her nepotism rant.
"Everyone thinks it is all glamorous and that I've gotten everything that I ever wanted. But I am very grateful that I am my dad's daughter and I wouldn't want it any other way. When people hate me for nepotism, I'm not going to shy away that I am Chunkey Panday's daughter. He is still working so hard. I am so proud of him. I am proud to be his daughter. I am so scared that people are going to say that 'You're taking things too lightly'. I will overcompensate then, because I don't want to take that chance. I have always wanted to be an actor and just because my father is an actor as well, I'm not going to say no to an opportunity. It isn't as easy as people say it is. I think everyone has their own journey. My dad has never been a part of the Dharma film. He has never been on Koffee with Karan," Ananya told.

Soon after she made the statement, Siddhant said everyone has a different way to look and struggle and interpret it. Further, taking a sly dig at Ananya, he told, "Jahaan humare sapne poore hote hain, wahi inka struggle shuru hota hai."
Workwise, Ananya was recently seen in Pati, Patni Aur Woh. She is currently shooting for Khaali Peeli with Ishaan Khatter which will release on July 12, 2020. She will then star opposite Siddhant and Deepika Padukone in Shakun Batra's film in 2021. On the other hand, Siddhant will feature with newcomer Sharvari Wagh in Bunty Aur Babli 2.
