Political party member slams Deepika Padukone's Chhapaak post her JNU visit, Kangana Ranaut's sister Rangoli Chandel jumps to her support

Deepika Padukone, who was in Delhi on Tuesday to promote her upcoming film Chhapaak, paid a visit to Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU) to extend her support to the students and professors on protest with respect to the violence against them. Soon after pictures and videos from the protest march, that had the actress participating, went viral, Twitter was clearly divided. While many lauded her for standing strong with the protesters, several of them slammed her and went on to chant slogans of boycott Chhapaak on social media.

Taking the hatred to another extent, a political party member, on Twitter, on Wednesday, shared an article written back in 2014 wherein it suggested that Deepika is taking help from underworld don Dawood Ibrahim for financing her films. He urged his followers to not watch the film. A while after the tweet was up on Twitter, Rangoli Chandel, sister of Kangana Ranaut, jumped to the actress's support. She, in her tweet, wrote that the worst scenario is when a man targets a woman for standing up for the right.

Well, this isn't the first time that Rangoli has extended her support to Deepika. A few days ago, she applauded the trailer of Chhapaak for bringing out an important topic like acid attack through cinema. Keeping bitterness and war of words between Kangana and Deepika, Rangoli defended Deepika.

Apart from Deepika, celebrities like Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Rajkummar Rao, Manoj Bajpayee, Nimrat Kaur, Taapsee Pannu and several others condemned the act of violence against students.
