Opening up on the struggles she faced in her career so far, newbie Ananya Panday, who is the daughter of actor Chunky Panday, said on journalist Rajeev Masand's show, "I have always wanted to be an actor and just because my father is an actor as well, I'm not going to say no to an opportunity. It isn't as easy as people say it is. I think everyone has their own journey. My dad has never been a part of the Dharma film. He has never been on 'Koffee with Karan'." Expectedly so, netizens have been trolling her since then over her views on nepotism. In fact, Gully Boy fame actor Siddhanth Chaturvedi, who was also a part of the show, apparently took a dig on Ananya's views.
Recently, Chunky was asked about her daughter being targeted on social media during an interview, to which he said, “The two times she really got trolled was when she called me Tony Stark and the second was this episode. I want to tell her to stop taking my name." Well, you can always count on him for taking everything with a pinch of salt.
Meanwhile, Ananya has not only become the latest favourite target of trollers, her love life is also gaining a lot of attention. When prodded, the loving father pointed out, “She’s 21, it would be abnormal if she didn’t have a boyfriend,” adding, “I have been through this in my time, so I know how much of it is true. You’re ready for these things as an insider."
Work wise, Chunky was seen in Saaho and Housefull 4 in 2019. Now he will feature next in Jawaani Jaaneman, which features Saif Ali Khan and Tabu, and marks the acting debut of Pooja Bedi’s daughter, Alaya F. In the coming-of-age story, Chunky portrays old man who refuses to act his age.
