Anushka Sharma kick starts shooting for cricketer Jhulan Goswami's biopic reportedly titled 'Chakdah Express', pictures from Kolkata's Eden Gardens leaked

The buzz had it that Anushka Sharma, who has been missing from the screens since Zero in 2018, has given a positive nod to star in all-round cricketer and former captain of India national women's cricket team Jhulan Goswami's biopic, tentatively titled Chakdah Express. Reports stated that the actress jetted off to Kolkata on Saturday to kickstart the first schedule of the film at the Eden Gardens. Proving them right, Anushka is indeed frontlining the biopic and we have proof. The 31-year-old actress, in pictures that went viral on social media platforms, can be seen dressed in a cricketer's uniform and was with Jhulan for training. As per a leading daily, sources close to the development told that Anushka shot for the sequence wherein she enters the stadium to play a match with her team. The report further stated that Anushka practiced the way Jhulan walks and also sported a similar hairstyle.

“The sequence shows Jhulan (Anushka) enter the field with her team to play a match. The production house was also very choosy about the 10 other players. They wanted them to be actual cricketers, between 5'3" and 5'4" in height. Jhulan has a particular way of walking and Anushka practised that along with her. She also sported a similar hairstyle. And the two of them have a similar physical structure too,” the source informed.

Jhulan, back in 2018, had announced her biopic. Hailing from Chakdah in West Bengal, Jhulan made her debut for Team India in 2002. Soon she emerged as one of the best bowlers. She played for the country in 10 Tests, 182 ODIs and 68 T20Is and managed to take 321 international wickets. The 37-year-old cricketer announced her retirement from the team in 2018 and has been appointed as a bowling consultant for India women's national cricket team.
