On December 20, fans of Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh and Sidharth Malhotra were sent into a zone of excitement with the announcement of their collaboration for an Indra Kumar film. The yet-to-be-titled film marks the reunion of Ajay and Rakul after De De Pyaar De while it will be Sidharth's maiden venture with the Singham actor. The announcement of this film has surely kept fans as well as us on our toes for further updates. While details of the project are being kept under tight wraps, sources close to it informed a leading daily that this Ajay-Sidharth-Rakul starrer will be a social comedy. The source further added that the story is along the lines of Sanjay Dutt's-Arshad Warsi's Munna Bhai series and reportedly revolves around two men who set out to reform the society.
"The filmmaker had narrated three scripts to Ajay. Since he has done a spate of serious movies including biopics, actioners and historical dramas, the actor was looking for a light-hearted comedy. Ajay zeroed in on this script as he liked the larger point the story tried to make while eliciting laughs. The film is along the lines of the Munna Bhai series as it revolves around two bumbling do-gooders with hearts of gold, who are out to reform society. It has been Indra Kumar's passion project; he had been scripting it for years. He is thrilled that the story will finally be translated on screen," the source told.
Ajay, in a previous interview, said that the yet-to-be-titled film is different from the regular Indra Kumar style of storytelling. As per the buzz, Ajay will be playing modern-day Yamraj in the comedy. The film is likely to go on floors in May.
Workwise, Ajay was last seen in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, which released on January 10, 2020. He will feature in films like Bhuj: The Pride Of India and Sooryavanshi with Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh in a special appearance. Ajay has also signed Amit Sharma's Maidaan and S S Rajamouli's RRR. Rakul will be seen opposite Arjun Kapoor in Kaashvie Nair's cross-border rom-com and with John Abraham in Attack. Sidharth was last seen in Marjaavaan and will star in Shershaah.
