The news of Amitabh Bachchan collaborating with acclaimed filmmaker Nagraj Manjule was sufficient enough to up the stakes. The megastar who is up for a busy year shot up the anticipation levels extremely high. Titled Jhund, the film is a sports drama set against the backdrop of slums. After much delay and wait, the makers of Jhund, on Tuesday, shared its teaser. For the unversed, this project is inspired by Vijay Barse, a Nagpur-based retired sports professor.
Speaking about the teaser, Amitabh, however, doesn't make an appearance but his voiceover makes a powerful impact. In the teaser, we are introduced to his jhund of carefree children from the slums. With the anthem Sheron Ka Jhund, the makers set the tone right.
Talking about Jhund, the film is based on Vijay who pioneered Jhoparpatti football, which is a known activity Internationally. Vijay, with his efforts, managed to rehabilitate street kids by diverting their attention from drugs and crime with the help of football.
With Jhund, Nagraj will be marking his Bollywood debut. His previous film Sairat wasn't just hailed by Marathi film audience but was appreciated across the country. As per reports, Sairat's lead actors Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar will also be seen in Jhund. Produced by Nagraj, Bhushan Kumar's and Krishan Kumar's T-Series Films, Raaj Hiremath and Savita Raj Hiremath, Jhund will release on May 8, 2020.
