It won't be wrong to say that Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy was indeed a gem. While the filmmaker proved the music album to be a chartbuster one, she managed to bring out flawless performances from the star cast. With Ranveer Singh immortalising the character of Murad, who is the central person around whom the story revolves, Alia Bhatt as Safeena gave us a role to cherish. The actress who has time and again proven to be a powerhouse of talent, shone brightly, leaving us in awe of her. Talking about the character that received numerous critical as well as fan appreciation, Alia, during an interview with a leading daily, revealed that she felt guilty about being applauded for Gully Boy. The 26-year-old dimpled beauty added further that though she enjoyed watching her own performance, she is self-critical and doesn't like talking much about her work.
"Though Gully Boy was intense, I had a lot of fun shooting for it, mainly due to Safeena’s infectious spirit. I remember feeling happy every day, which is very unusual for me because usually, I am self-critical and don’t like talking too much about my work. Now, when people tell me how amazing my performance is in it, I feel guilty as I am like: ‘did I work hard’ or ‘why do I deserve this kind of appreciation.’ Personally, I too enjoyed watching my performance in Gully Boy, which usually doesn’t happen. I enjoyed the film since it’s so beautiful and has been an unusual experience," Alia told.
Speaking of Gully Boy, the film starred Siddhant Chaturvedi, Amruta Subhash, Vijay Varma, Vijay Maurya, Vijay Raaz and Kalki Koechlin with Ranveer and Alia Bhatt.
