After the 2019 reincarnation comedy Housefull 4, Farhad Samji has two more projects backed by Sajid Nadiadwala. The first is Republic Day 2021 release Bachchan Pandey - which stars Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon, the other is Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali with Salman Khan.
Recalling how he met Salman for the first time, Farhad revealed that used to go from one studio to another during his struggling days and that's when the actor spotted him. “It started as a fiveminute chat but went on for hours as he loved the songs I’d written. Salman sir was to act in Hum Kisise Kum Nahin and got me on board as a first-time lyricist. He couldn’t do the film but David (Dhawan, director) sir retained my songs," Farhad mentioned to a leading daily. His Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali with Salman will kick off in November and is slated for a Eid 2021 release.
On the other hand, with Akshay, Farhad has done Entertainment, Housefull 3 and 4. Recalling his first meeting with the Khiladi Kumar, Farhad claimed that it was Akshay who turned him into a director. “I’d gone to him for a narration at 5 am. The tradition of narrating scripts at the crack of dawn continues even today," he stated.
Meanwhile, talking about his two upcoming releases, Farhad pointed out, “Both the scripts are almost ready; we just need to work on casting, recce and schedules," as he promised “lots of action, emotion and comedy” in both films. He signed off by saying that it was challenging for him to bring something new for Akshay and Salman as they have been in the showbiz for so long.
