At Grammy Awards 2020, our very own desi star Priyanka Chopra Jonas wore an ivory white Ralph and Russo gown. The trailing ensemble had deep plunging neckline that exposed her pierced navel, batwing sleeves with fringes. She styled her look with side parted poker straight hair, filled in brows, a full face of makeup, plum lips and drop earrings. While some loved her outfit, others targeted her for the outfit's plunging neckline.
Now Disha Patani, who has been busy promoting her film Malang, was asked about Priyanka's outfit and the controversy surrounding it. To which she said, “She looked beautiful. I mean honestly it’s kind of a mentality that if someone from your own country is wearing certain kinds of clothes, you are always trolling them but if you see someone else, from outside, then ‘Oh! She’s so beautiful.’ You can’t really help it. You just ignore it."
Recently, Hina Khan too had supported Priyanka's choice of outfit by extending an open challenge to trolls to carry off the gown. Meanwhile, PeeCee's mother Madhu Chopra had claimed that the actress can do whatever she wants by pointing out, “I am glad it happened because I feel it made her stronger. She lives life on her own terms. As long as she is not harming or hurting anybody, it’s her body and she can do what she wants. And she is a beautiful one too.”
Work wise, Priyanka will next be seen in Netflix's We Can Be Heroes by Robert Rodriguez, and an adaptation of the Man Booker Prize winning novel The White Tiger alongside Rajkummar Rao.
