Satyameva Jayate, a high-octane vigilante action drama film, had hit the screens last year. The makers have now announced the second installment to the Satyameva Jayate franchise. John, who played a vigilante who goes on a corrupt cop-killing spree in the original, is pairing up with Divya Khosla Kumar for the upcoming film. The film, to be directed by Milap Zaveri and produced by T-Series and Emmay Entertainment and Motion Pictures, will go on floors soon.
Recently, several media reports suggested that John might be playing a triple role in the upcoming drama. However, in a recent interview, John refuted the rumours and said, "I hope that’s true, but Milap (Zaveri, writer-director) is still in the process of developing certain characters and he might like me to play other roles, too. But that’s still up for a lot of discussion. So, I can’t say if there’s going to be one, two or three of me in the film."
Well, we will have to wait and watch this one! Satyameva Jayate 2 is slated to release on October 2, 2020.
Apart from that, John also has Mumbai Saga and Attack in the pipeline. When asked if his lineup of film mark the return of John Abraham, the action hero, the actor quipped, "Well, barring Attack, which is purely an action entertainer, the other two have elements of action but are not strictly in this genre. Satyameva Jayate 2 tackles social issues in an entertaining way, while Mumbai Saga is the true story of gangster Amar Naik. I wouldn’t say it works or is a safe bet, but it’s something I enjoy doing and with a lot of ease."
Going ahead, John is also working with Nikkhil Advani on Gorkha, which takes off next year, apart from Ray with Abhishek Sharma.
