Ever since the film Bob Biswas has been announced, the anticipation has surely shot up high. A spin-off of the popular antagonist from Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani starring Vidya Balan, the project will see Abhishek Bachchan slipping into the titular role which was formerly played by the renowned Bengali actor Saswata Chatterjee. But recently, the team of the film was called out for flouting National Green Tribunal guidelines during the shoot at South Kolkata lake.
Now, the makers of Bob Biswas have appointed a 10-member clean-up team and have stopped cooking on set. A source informed, "Until Sunday, the unit was shooting at the lake where they followed a 12-hour shift. After the shoot was wrapped up, the hired help used to take over the location, ensuring it was spick and span. The makers had faced severe backlash for cooking inside the premises. Taking cognizance of the complaints, the producers roped in a tiffin service that provided food to the unit hands, thereby doing away with the need for cooking on location. They also curbed the use of plastic."
After a 10-day stint at the Rabindra Sarobar, the unit of the Sujoy Ghosh production moved to Golf Green Phase 4 earlier this week. "Abhishek also shot near Dalhousie Square."
Bob Biswas will be produced by Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Sujoy Ghosh and Gaurav Verma, the film is a Bound Script production presented by Red Chillies Entertainment. It is slated to release this year itself. Bob Biswas marks Diya's directorial debut.
