Ranveer Singh is currently riding high on cloud nine and why not? The actor, at the recently held 65th Amazon Filmfare Awards 2020 in Guwahati, Assam, bagged the top honour for Gully Boy, which emerged to be the film to receive maximum awards. Elated, obviously, Ranveer couldn't hold back his excitement when he was on stage to receive the Best Actor award from none other than Madhuri Dixit. The 34-year-old star, while collecting the trophy, not just thanked his co-star Alia Bhatt, director Zoya Akhtar and the team behind Gully Boy, but also went on to express his gratitude for his wife Deepika Padukone. For his actress wife who couldn't make it to Assam, Ranveer said in his speech that after getting married, he has been on a winning spree. Calling Deepika 'Laxmi', the doting husband told that he loves her and wished she could be there to witness the moment.
"Last year I got married, received best actor and received it again. That means Laxmi has really come to my house. I love you baby, I miss you, I wish you were here. I'm coming straight to you. Catching a plane and coming straight to you, by the way," Ranveer told.
Ranveer and Deepika tied the knot in Italy on November 14 and 15 in 2018 with their families in attendance. The couple, after celebrating their first year anniversary last year, took off on a vacation to an undisclosed location. They returned back to Mumbai a night before Ranveer jetted off to Assam. Workwise, Deepika and Ranveer will star with each other for the first time after wedding, in Kabir Khan's '83 which will release on April 10, 2020.
Apart from '83, Ranveer will be seen in Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Takht. Deepika will begin shooting for Shakun Batra's next, the Hindi remake of The Intern with Rishi Kapoor and Mahabharat wherein she will be playing Draupadi.
