Director Shankar has been shooting Indian 2 on a massive scale at a set that was constructed at EVP Studios in Chennai. Reportedly, a huge fight sequence featuring Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal and several junior artists was being shot. Unfortunately, a crane fell on technicians, taking the lives of three people and leaving nearly 10 people injured.
According to costume designer Amritha Ram, she had a narrow escape along with Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal and others. The Sita actress condoled the death of three people and shared how she escaped the horrific accident in an elaborate tweet.
Kamal also tweeted about the incident and expressed his grief.

She wrote, "In so much shock, denial, trauma from the monstrous crane accident last night. All it took was a fraction of a second to stay alive and type this tweet. Just that one moment. Gratitude. So much learning and appreciation for the value of time and life.'

Stylist Seema Tabassum was also with Kajal Aggarwal when the accident happened. "Survived a major accident today with @ikamalhaasan @MsKajalAggarwal shattered mentally??it was fraction of seconds in wch we jumped out of our tent nd we turn back & see our chairs were crushed by a huge cran here are some photographs , but it’s unfortunate we lost 3 friends RIP," she posted.
