Amruta Subhash is undoubtedly on cloud nine currently. The actress, who shot to fame with her portrayal of Ranveer Singh's mother in Gully Boy, is being showered with praises and admiration ever since the film released. Acknowledging her splendid work, the jury of the prestigious Filmfare Awards 2020 honoured her with the Best Supporting Actor(Female) trophy for the Zoya Akhtar directorial. Since then, Amruta is amidst a flood of love and cheers. In addition to this, the actress who is a known face in Marathi cinema, received a special gift from late Smita Patil's sister Anita Patil.
Amruta, on Saturday, got gifts from Anita which included late Smita's dupatta along with flowers and a handwritten letter. Amruta shared pictures of the gifts on her Instagram account and fondly remembered the veteran actress. In the background, one can hear Smita's popular Marathi song Sunya Sunya Maifilit Majha from the film Umbartha.
In Gully Boy, Amruta essayed the role of Ranveer's mother, who becomes the reason for him to make an identity of his own. Amruta, as a woman who is witnessing a rough phase in terms of her relationship with her husband, won the hearts of the audience rightfully.
Speaking of Gully Boy, the film starred Siddhant Chaturvedi, Amruta, Vijay Varma, Vijay Maurya, Vijay Raaz and Kalki Koechlin with Ranveer and Ali Bhatt. The story revolved around a chawl resident Murad, who amidst family and financial troubles, becomes a successful rapper with the help and support of his friend Moeen (Vijay Varma), girlfriend Safeena(Alia) and MC Sher(Siddhant). Gully Boy released on February 14, 2019.
