Ever since the upcoming film based on the LGBTQ+ community titled Sheer Qorma was announced, the anticipation surrounding this project has been up. And why not? The film boasts of a stellar cast including Swara Bhasker, Shabana Azmi and Divya Dutta in the forefront. Now putting an end to the wait, the makers have launched the trailer of the film and we must say, it beautifully portrays that 'love is not a sin'.
The trailer begins with Saira (Divya) and Sitara (Swara) and the former’s brother and sister-in-law having dinner together at a table. The couple has been together for a decade in Toronto and have mustered the courage to visit Saira’s disapproving mother, played by Shabana, in India. Revealing her identity, Divya's Saira says she identifies as non-binary and uses gender neutral pronouns ‘they, their, them’. However, her mother calls their relationship unnatural but how love a finds amidst it all, forms the crux of the story.

The film is said to be a heart-touching narrative of the longing for love and acceptance, which is felt by the queer community within their households. Sheer Qorma is directed by Faraz Arif Ansari, who previously directed the silent film, Sisak.
