After Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone made their successful Hollywood debuts, it now looks like Hrithik Roshan is ready to expand his horizons and try his luck beyond the seven seas. The actor known for his Greek God looks is a superstar in India and it isn’t surprising that international media has woken up to his popularity.
The basis for these rumours is the fact that Hrithik has been signed by the California based Gersh Agency. The Agency will represent him in Hollywood. In an interview with a leading daily, Hrithik’s manager Amrita Sen also confirmed the news and spoke about Hrithik’s wish of going global. She said, “Hrithik has always been an envelope pusher. For the last 20 years, Hrithik has been helping to drive Indian cinema into new genres, new narrative concepts and ever more sophisticated storytelling. He is excited about the fact that the market for global content, which features characters and stories from other parts of the world, couldn’t be stronger than it is today."
She further added, "With Hrithik’s leadership, our goal is to continue to put India in a front and center position on the path towards globalization and diversity and help integrate creators into new markets that were previously not available to them. In partnership with Gersh, we will now be taking Hrithik’s ambitious vision around the world.” Although Hrithik has been signed only now, but previously his 2010 film Kites that starred Mexican actress Barbara Mori and Kangana Ranaut was also released in English as Kites: The Remix in North America. The film did not live up to the hype and was a debacle.
Hrithik was last seen in YRF’s War alongside Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor. The film went on to do a roaring business in India and was the highest grosser of 2019. He also starred in Super 30 last year that earned him lots of accolades for essaying the role of mathematician Anand Kumar.
