Ever since the upcoming horror comedy film Laxmmi Bomb, starring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani in the lead roles was announced, the excitement among cine enthusiasts and fans of the actors shot to the highest peak. The official Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster Kanchana, Laxmmi Bomb is directed by Raghava Lawrence, who starred and helmed the original four-film franchise. Now, as the horror-comedy is inching closer to its theatrical release, the team wrapped its shoot on Saturday. Tusshar Kapoor, who is producing the film, announced the wrap on his Instagram handle.
Tusshar, on Sunday, on Instagram, shared a picture with Akshay, Raghava, Ashwini Kalsekar, Ganesh Acharya, Sharad Kelkar, Manu Rishi Chadha and Farhad Samji. "A long journey comes into its last lap...#laxmmibomb wrap! Jai mata di!" wrote Tusshar. In the picture, Kiara, who is the lead actress, was missing as she was busy shooting for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in Jaipur.
Speaking of the Muni or Kanchana series, the first part of the four films released in 2007 and the lead role was played by Raghava. Muni 2: Kanchana formed the second film and was released four years later. The third part Kanchana 2 and the final one titled Kanchana 3 released in 2015 and 2019 respectively.
Laxmmi Bomb is scheduled to release on May 22, 2020, and is also produced by Cape of Good Films and Fox Star Studios with Tusshar and Shabina.
