Kareena Kapoor Khan, after Good Newwz, is all set to star opposite Irrfan in Homi Adajania's Angrezi Medium. The actress, who will be seen as Naina, a cop, has made us excited to watch her in a different avatar. Now, as the film is inching closer to its release date, Kareena is gearing up for the promotional rounds. During one such interview for Angrezi Medium with a leading daily, Begum K, not just expressed her admiration for Irrfan yet again, but also spoke about the biopic on renowned Indian poet and film songs lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi. For the unversed, trade reports suggested that Kareena will be romantically paired opposite Irrfan in the poet's biopic. However, things failed to materialise despite a change in cast. The Jab We Met star told that she wished it would have happened. Talking about Irrfan, Kareena said it was surreal to meet him and she was in awe of him.
"I wish the Sahir film had happened. But then again, I believe when such great movies don't work out, it's for a reason. Every movie has its destiny, and that one will take its own course. Under the circumstances that Irrfan and I met, it was surreal. He is so respectful and charming, and I was in awe of him."
Kareena further added that she was accompanying her husband Saif Ali Khan to London during the shoot of his film Jawaani Jaaneman. She then revealed that her portions required her to shoot for 12 to 15 days and breathed a sigh of relief that she got to work with Irrfan. "I was accompanying Saif; he was shooting for Jawaani Jaaneman at that time. So, I was in London for two months anyway. I had to devote 12 to 15 days to the shoot. That was my chance to work with Irrfan. Thank God it worked out!" Kareena added.
Angrezi Medium is a sequel to 2017 hit film Hindi Medium and is produced by Dinesh Vijan and it will star Radhika Madan as Irrfan's daughter Tarika Bansal who desires to pursue her higher education abroad. The other actors in Angrezi Medium include Pankaj Tripathi, Dimple Kapadia, Deepak Dobriyal, Myrah Dandekar, Poorvi Jain and Manu Rishi Chadha. The film is scheduled to release on March 13, 2020.
