Janhvi Kapoor, after making her debut with 2018's Dhadak directed by Shashank Khaitan, has been missing from the silver screens. While the actress has a number of films to her kitty, her hiatus will break with the release of Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. After much delay, the Sharan Sharma directorial debut will finally hit the screens on April 24 this year. Talking about her second Bollywood feature film, the 22-year-old, during an interview with a magazine, told that the jitters she had for her first project have returned. Janhvi went on to say that Gunjan Saxena feels like it is her maiden venture. She continued and stated that the level of investment from her end is high as she was its part from the beginning.
“I feel like Gunjan Saxena is my first film. Also, the level of investment in this one is abnormally high, because I got on board at such a nascent stage,” Janhvi told.
Talking about working with a debut director after teaming with filmmakers like Shashank in Dhadak and Zoya Akhtar in Netflix's film Ghost Stories, Janhvi said Sharan gave her an atmosphere where a collaborative process prevailed. She further added that Sharan allowed her to discover the character, which is a real-life one, by herself without setting a fixed description.
Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl revolves around the first woman IAF pilot in combat. The film apart from Janhvi stars Angad Bedi and Pankaj Tripathi. It is directed by Sharan and produced by Karan Johar under Dharma Productions.
