Richa Chadha spreads positivity through 'random acts of kindness' with social media experiments

It’s imperative that our screen idols extend their responsibility as social influencers beyond their cinematic outings. Setting an example, once again was Richa Chadha. Many think of her as an outspoken actor who doesn’t shy away from taking a stance. But she recently took to her Instagram account to celebrate ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ as a thought, with a few activities which became pleasant surprises planned and executed for complete strangers. It started with her offering to go on a film date with five strangers for Oscar forerunner Jojo Rabbit. She wanted a chance to bond over relevant cinema.

Netizens also showered her with praise for helping a victim of a terrible accident, get timely medical assistance.  She and her manager waited by the victim’s side, made calls to his loved ones and left only after putting him on an ambulance.

This is the last in my #RandomActsOfKindness week posts... a few days ago, while driving on the Pune expressway, we came across an accident. The car was badly banged up, there was visible sparking at the bonnet and the oil tank had burst... there’s an oil spill in the road, as can be seen in the video. Last week I had to cancel a lot of meetings, because I slipped on this oil spill, and twisted my knee, while trying to stop the police car and get an ambulance. (am limping a little as you can see here). While a lot of cars just slowed down, looked at the commotion and drove off... this is usually called the bystander syndrome, where people don’t ACT, when something goes terribly wrong. However, there was many people who helped the victim, including a very prompt worker of the expressway emergency team. I am posting this video here not to show off, but to reassure everyone... kindness goes a long way. I hope this victim is fine... I know his leg will never be the same again, but he’s ALIVE and that’s nothing short of a miracle. . . . . #Kindness #RichaChadha #StaySafe #Spreadkindess #love #kindnessiscool . Thank you @amandeep_khubbar for having the presence of mind to film this... you are amazing. Guys she helped slow traffic down, or there would have been other accidents on the Expressway.

Last month a video of Richa handing out holding a placard saying ‘Free Hugs’ on the streets of Mumbai went viral. While in reel life she is known to for her brash characters, it seems like Richa’s ready to share her softer side with the world. In times of trolling and divisions, at least someone is using social media for good!
