Saif Ali Khan tells me that tag of being super successful won’t last but being great actor will: Kareena Kapoor Khan on crediting her husband for her 'reinvention'

Love her or hate her, you just can't ignore Kareena Kapoor Khan. A true diva in all sense, the actress is a dream for top filmmakers. As Kareena completes two decades in cinema, she is indeed a favourite and there ain't a denial. Now, with the release of Angrezi Medium inching closer, Begum K has been giving back-to-back interviews. During one such interview, Kareena spoke about signing relevant films that her fans would like to see her in. The 39-year-old actress was of the opinion that the screen time of the character isn't the primary criteria but attempting is a priority. She further added that as an actor the reinvention of mind is more important than physicality.

"I did Good Newwz (2019) because it told a story of a woman who wants to have a child in a particular situation or Angrezi Medium where I play a cop. It’s not a big role, but it’s still a part of a relevant film and an attempt to play a character that I’ve not done before. I believe, as an actor, it has a lot to do with reinvention of the mind other than the physicality,” Kareena told.

While talking about reinvention, Kareena credited her husband Saif Ali Khan. She told that when discussing work, Saif advises her to let go of some things and tells her that the tag of a superstar won't last long but being a great actor will. “We talk about work but there are times when he tells me about letting it go. He often tells me that the tag of being super successful won’t last but being a great actor will. Apart from that, travelling, reading books and meeting people who are not so insular with the industry has helped as it’s just refreshing,” Kareena added.

Workwise, Kareena will be seen in the role of an undercover cop named Naina in Irrfan starrer Angrezi Medium. The film which is a sequel to the 2017 hit film Hindi Medium is directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan. It also stars Radhika Madan and will release on March 13, 2020. Apart from that, she stars in Karan Johar's Christmas 2021 release Takht.
