In Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat, Deepika Padukone played Rani Padmavati, the queen of Mewar and wife of Raja Ratan Singh. The legendary queen was known for her beauty and as per the legendary tale, Alauddin Khilji, the Sultan of Delhi, laid down a siege outside the mighty fort of Chittorgarh in 1303 CE just to capture a glimpse of her. Nonetheless, Deepika played the part with finesse and she looked enthralling as the Rani.
Guess what? Her character became so popular that a doll of Deepika's avatar in the film is now in the market. Sharing a collage on social media, a fan page posted the picture of the actor from her 2018 film on one side and her exact replica as a doll on the other. It is rather interesting to see how the two look similar.

For the unversed, the film stirred a controversy after Rajput groups, chiefly the Karni Sena, threatened to stall its release for incorrect depiction of history. While the film was earlier called Padmvati, it was later changed to Padmaavat.
Work wise, Deepika was last seen in Meghna Gulzar directorial, Chhapaak. She will be seen next in a supporting role of Kapil Dev's wife Romi Dev in Ranveer Singh-starrer '83.
