Kolar Gold Fields aka KGF Chapter 1 frontlined by Kannada superstar Yash released in December 2018, went on to become a blockbuster hit not just down South but across all film markets in India. the action drama minted a great amount at the box office and also won the hearts of the audience and critics alike. With Chapter 1 becoming a favourite at the theatres, the makers decided to please fans by announcing the second part of the KGF franchise. Now, after much wait, the team behind the film announced its release date.

KGF Chapter 2 apart from Yash has retained the lead actress Srinidhi Shetty and has roped in new additions like Sanjay Dutt as the antagonist Adheera and Raveena Tandon as Ramika Sen. The makers, on Friday, announced that it will release on October 23, 2020.

KGF: Chapter 2 is directed by Prashanth Neel. The film is produced by Hombale Films and will be releasing in four languages like its predecessor in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. KGF Chapter 1 marked Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment's first Kannada venture and now the production house is elated to be associated with a mega ambitious project with KGF Chapter 2.
