Juhi Chawla is an impeccable actress with gorgeous looks and great comic timing. Her marriage with business tycoon Jay Mehta has stood the test of the time ever since they met on the sets of Rakesh Roshan’s film Karobar. Juhi tied the knot with Mehta when she was at the height of her career but refrained from proclaiming her marital status for quite some time. They walked the aisle in 1995 in a private ceremony and became the talk-of-the-town only when they were expecting their first child together. In a recent interview, Juhi revealed the real reason why she kept her marriage a hush-hush affair.
Now, after almost 25 years of marriage, Juhi revealed in an interview that she kept her marital status a secret for the sake of her career. She said in an interview, “Well, one, there was no internet and nobody had cameras on their phones at that time so it was possible for us to do. I was afraid of losing my career just when I had gotten to a certain level of success. So I wanted to carry on and this seemed the midway. That we keep quiet and carry on working.”
She further said, “And that year my mom passed away so that was a very difficult time for me as well. Because I felt I was going to lose everything, my work, my mom, everything."
Juhi was last seen on the big screen in Shelly Chopra Dhar’s directorial debut Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. The film reunited her with Anil Kapoor and had Sonam Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the lead. She will be next seen in Hitesh Bhatia’s Sharmaji Namkeen alongside Rishi Kapoor.
