The nation is currently battling the outburst of a pandemic named Coronavirus. The virus first came into knowledge after China and its neighbouring countries got affected and soon, Coronavirus aka COVID-19 has gripped the whole world into its trap. While medical facilities are being multiplied each day, citizens are advised to not visit crowded places till March 31. Owing to this, not just trade and commerce, but the entertainment industry has also faced a major setback. Due to the outbreak, theatres, parks, malls, clubs, gyms and other public places are instructed to remain shut till March 31. After pushing the release date of Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi given the current condition, the makers of Ranveer Singh's '83 have also taken the call to postpone its release indefinitely.
The makers, on Friday, in a social media statement, informed that '83 will be pushed forward keeping the audience' safety in mind. They further assured that the film will release once the situation is normalised. "83 is not just our film but the entire nation’s film. But the health and safety of the nation always comes first. Stay safe, take care. We shall be back soon!," Ranveer wrote on Instagram.
'83 orbits around the historic victory of the Indian cricket team during the 1983 world cup. The Kabir Khan directorial is being presented by Anil Dhirubhai Ambani’s Reliance Entertainment. It also features Tahir Raj Bhasin, Harrdy Sandhu, Nishant Dahiya, Dinker Sharma, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Jiiva, Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani and Ammy Virk. It is is co-produced by Madhu Mantena, Sajid Nadiadwala and Reliance Entertainment. The film was initially scheduled to release on April 10, 2020, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
