India received a rude shock on Friday when Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel and deadly Coronavirus. The singer received heavy backlash from the authorities as well as people for not going into self-quarantine and rather partying after coming back from London and exposing several others to the deadly virus. Amid all this Rishi Kapoor was quick to point fingers at Kanika’s negligence as well as the Taj Hotel in Lucknow where she had stayed. However, today, he did a U-turn and came out in support of the singer and the hotel after the latter gave out a statement.
Rishi, who had lashed out at the hotel yesterday had written, “Think. Chalo Delhi airport se to nikal gayi. Why an establishment like The Taj Lucknow Hotel didn’t have the facility to screen visitors? After all the Taj is a huge name and a property. Surely they could have detected!” He also had taken a jibe at Kanika.
However, after receiving a reply from the hotel, Rishi gave a flattering reply to the establishment and Kanika. The five-star hotel in which Kanika attended the party clarified via social media that the singer wasn’t running a fever when she came in.
On the other hand, Kanika’s troubles are not restricted to the coronavirus as FIRs have been lodged against her for negligence, flouting government norms and exposing others to the deadly virus.
