Coronavirus: Director of Sanjay Gandhi PGIMS reacts to Kanika Kapoor's claim of being ill-treated at the hospital; three FIRs lodged against singer in Lucknow

As Coronavirus continues its wrath, renowned Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor found herself into grave trouble after she tested positive for the novel COVID-19. The Baby Doll singer who returned from London to Mumbai on March 9 and then travelled to her hometown Lucknow on March 11, is now under self-isolation at the Sanjay Gandhi PGIMS.  Kanika, after admitting herself to the hospital, claimed to be ill-treated and also stated that the authorities have kept her starving by giving her just 2 small bananas and an orange. However, now, in a statement issued by Dr. RK Dhiman, Director, Sanjay Gandhi PGIMS, Lucknow, it is told that the 41-year-old is being provided a gluten-free diet from the hospital kitchen and is getting the best provision. He further added that she firstly needs to stop throwing tantrums and behave like a patient, not a star.

"Kanika Kapoor has been provided the best that is possible in a hospital. She must co-operate as a patient and not throw tantrums of a star. She is being provided a gluten-free diet from hospital kitchen. She has to co-operate with us. Facility provided to her is an isolated room with a toilet, patient-bed and a television. The ventilation of her room is air-conditioned with a separate Air Handling Unit for COVID-19 unit. Utmost care is being taken but she must first start behaving as a patient and not a star," Dr. RK Dhiman told.

PeepingMoon.com was the first to inform its readers about the news and also broke it out that Kanika escaped security and medical screening at the airport. She also hid her travel details from the authorities. Denying the story as false, Kanika continued to defend herself. However, the Uttar Pradesh Police seems to be in no mood to spare her for her negligence. Well, yes. As per the report of a leading daily, three FIRs against the singer have been filed. The first one is by the Lucknow’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Narendra Kumar Agarwal at the Sarojini Nagar Police Station, Lucknow, under Sections 188 (disobedience of an order duly promulgated by a public servant), 269 (negligently acting in a way likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life), and 270 (malignant act likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life). The other latter two complaints are reportedly lodged at the Hazratganj Police Station and Gomti Nagar Police Station.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Central, Lucknow, Dinesh Kumar Singh, in an interview with the leading daily, confirmed the same and told, “On the basis of the CMO’s complaint, an FIR was lodged against Kapoor on charges of negligently committing an act likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life, a malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life, and disobeying an order duly promulgated by a public servant.”
