After playing father-daughter in a recent advertisement, it was reported that Katrina Kaif and Amitabh Bachchan will soon be sharing screen space in a new film. Helmed by Vikas Bahl the upcoming film is a slice-of-life comedy that is tentatively titled Deadly. A leading daily had reported the collaboration.
However, amid the Coronavirus outbreak a source close to the development of the film told us, “We are undergoing a crisis situation with the outbreak of a virus that has affected the entire world. Our priority right now should be the health and safety of others. This is not the time for announcements or any other baseless stories alike.”
The Indian film industry and all its associated bodies have halted all production and shoots of films and serials amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. The Central Government, as well as several state governments, have announced complete lockdown keeping in mind the health concerns regarding the deadly and novel Coronavirus.
Deadly is reportedly centered round a funeral. The daily had reported “Katrina loved the basic premise, which essentially traces the protagonist’s journey of self-discovery with humourous undertones, and gave an instant go-ahead to Vikas. Vikas and Katrina have discussed the central role of the father with Amitabh Bachchan who has shown a keen interest in doing the film. However, he is yet to sign on the dotted line.” Since the project has been put on hold till the world comes back in order, let’s wait for an official announcement about the film.
