Just In! PM Narendra Modi announces complete lockdown in India from midnight of 24 March, 2020, amid the Coronavirus Outbreak!

Amid the Coronavirus pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation tonight once again. He proclaimed a complete lockdown in the country from midnight tonight. The lockdown will continue for 21 days till April 14 from March 24 (midnight).

He said that essential services like groceries and medicines will be available. Hospitals will run but he requested people not o come out on the streets and go under self-isolation and self-quarantine with immediate effect. PM Modi expressed his gratitude towards the medical and paramedical staff that are working non-stop and without considering for their own health in ensuring that the Indian citizens are cared for. He thanked them with folded hands and asked people to help them by not coming out of their homes so that the infection is kept at a minimum.

PM Modi even gave a new definition for Coronavirus. He shared a placard that read, “Co=Koi, Ro=Road par, Na=Na Nikle.” This lockdown will ensure to keep the Coronavirus outbreak in India to a bare minimum. PM Modi thanked companies and private sectors for their cooperation and asked the countrymen to stand united in the face of this threat.
